The Institute of Public Affairs John Storey says Australia risks its international reputation to “slightly” reduce power prices.
“They’re cheering about a slight reduction for one year,” Mr Storey told Sky News Australia.
“The reality is that Australian households are going to be doing it very tough this summer whether they should decide to turn their air conditioning on or not, and over the next 12 months with or without this deal.
“That is going to create enormous pressure on the government to keep this going.”
