Former Nigerian goalkeeper, Dosu Joseph has revealed that he’s delighted with the forthcoming international friendly game between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Desert Foxes of Algeria on September 27.
Both countries missed out on the 2022 World Cup, with Nigeria falling to Ghana while Algeria were eliminated by Cameroon.
The Super Eagles were set to face Guinea-Bissau home and away in the Afcon qualifiers during this month’s window while the Desert Foxes had a date with Niger before the postponement.

However, in an interview with Completesports.com, the Atlanta Olympic gold medalist, stated that the game will afford both teams to access their players ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
“I am glad with the friendly game the Super Eagles will be playing against Algeria considering the fact that it will help both coaches to access their players after failing to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.
“For me, I think this will also give the Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro the chance to identify some of the areas the team need to build upon.”
Nigeria and Algeria have faced each other six times with the Super Eagles winning thrice while the North Africans have managed one victory, the win coming during the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final when they won 2-1 en route to the final.
