Hockey Canada says it will not collect a participant assessment fee for the upcoming season.
The fee is typically $3 per player.
Several provincial organizations had already withheld those fees from Hockey Canada in the wake of an ongoing scandal that has embroiled the national sports body for months.
Justice Thomas Cromwell is in the midst of a full governance review of Hockey Canada after its mishandling of a group sexual assault allegedly involving members of the 2018 men’s junior team in London, Ont.
Cromwell was tasked with the review earlier this year after it was revealed that the organization reached an undisclosed settlement with the alleged victim.
A second police investigation is also underway in Halifax over an alleged group sexual assault involving members of the 2003 men’s world junior team.
None of the allegations have been proven in court.
