Black Swan is fast approaching the live servers of Honkai: Star Rail. She will be one of the two 5-star characters that will join us for Version 2.0 in 2024. Thanks to the Honkai community, fans have come together and compiled Black Swan leaks that revealed her abilities alongside in-game clips.
Back on December 12, Star Rail posted her official art alongside Sparkle.
Black Swan is a Wind character on the Path of Nihility. Fans have been dying to play her ever since Honkai: Star Rail’s release. Hoyoverse first revealed her back on May 3, 2023, where she explained every Aeon in Star Rail’s universe.
And just recently, Black Swan returned as she summarized the Trailblazer’s journey so far.
Who Is Black Swan?
This elegant yet enigmatic lady is a Memokeeper from the Garden of Recollection. They are related to the messenger found in front of Memory of Chaos or the Forgotten Hall.
For further context, normal mortals can’t enter the Garden of Recollection. Rumors say that Memokeepers, such as Black Swan, change or morph their appearance to adapt to society. It is, after all, their job to perverse its ‘memories.’
One proof of this is how they preserved March 19th’s memories despite the character having amnesia.
Black Swan Release Date
There is a high chance that Hoyoverse will release Black Swan as the first 5-star in Version 2.0. We can then conclude that her release date is on or near February 7, 2024.
Stay tuned for further updates.
Black Swan Abilities
Black Swan shines in spreading Damage of Time (DoT) through an ability called Sacrament. Players must aim to apply as much Sacrament as possible to possibly one-shot multiple enemies.
Talent
Loom of Fate’s Caprice | Every time an enemy target receives DoT at the start of each turn, there is a 50% base chance for it to be inflicted with Sacrament. While afflicted with Sacrament, enemy targets receive Wind DoT equal to 96% of Black Swan’s ATK. Each stack of Sacrament increases this DMG multiplier by 4.8%. Then Sacrament resets to 1 stack. Sacrament can stack up to 99 times. Only when Sacrament deals DMG at the start of an enemy target’s turn, Black Swan triggers additional effects based on the number of Sacrament stacks inflicted on the target: When having 3 or more Sacrament stacks, deals Wind DoT equal to 72% of Black Swan’s ATK to adjacent targets, with a 50% base chance of inflicting 1 stack of Sacrament on adjacent targets. When having 7 or more Sacrament stacks, enables the current DoT dealt this time to ignore 20% of the target’s DEF and adjacent targets’ DEF. |
To summarize, there is a 50% chance that Black Swan’s Talent applies Sacrament every time an enemy receives a DoT. Additionally, while an enemy has Sacrament in battle, they receive Wind DoT.
Sacrament can stack up 99 times but will always reset once triggered (by Black Swan’s Ultimate, more information below). Once an enemy has seven or more Sacraments applied to them, their DoT will ignore 20% of their DEF.
Skill
Decadence, False Twilight (Skill) | Deals Wind DMG equal to 45% of Black Swan’s ATK to a single enemy and any adjacent targets, with a 100% base chance to inflict 1 stack of Sacrament to the attacked enemies and a 100% base chance to lower the attacked enemies’ DEF by 14.8%, lasting for 3 turns. |
In short, Black Swan’s Skill applies one stack of Sacrament and Wind DoT (based on her ATK) on a single or multiple enemies. It also lowers their DEF. This effect lasts for three turns.
Ultimate
Bliss of Otherworld’s Embrace (Ultimate) | Deals Wind DMG equal to 72% of Black Swan’s ATK to all enemies and inflicts Epiphany on them for 2 turn(s). Enemies affected by Epiphany take 15% more damage in their turn, and their Sacrament effect is regarded as Wind Shear, Bleed, Burn, and Shock effects. In addition, when their Sacrament effect is triggered at the beginning of the next turn, the Sacrament stacks are not reset. The stack reservation effect can be triggered up to 1 time(s) during the Epiphany duration, and its charges are replenished when Epiphany is applied again. |
Meanwhile, Black Swan’s Ultimate deals a huge burst of Wind DMG and makes enemies take more DMG in general.
Her Ultimate also applies Epiphany to enemies that last for two turns. While inflicted with Epiphany, every Sacrament applied either through Swan’s Skill or Talent turns into DoT.
Bonus Traces
Viscera’s Disquiet | After using the Skill to hit a single target enemy that has Wind Shear, Bleed, Burn, or Shock, there is a 65% base chance of additionally inflicting 1 stack of Sacrament for each of the above debuffs on the enemy. |
Goblet’s Dredges | Every time an enemy target receives DoT during the single attack of allies, there is a 65% base chance for it to be inflicted with 1 stack of Sacrament, stacking up to 3 time(s) during 1 single attack. |
Candleflame’s Portent | Increases DMG dealt by this unit by an amount equal to 60% of their Effect Hit Rate, up to a maximum DMG increase of 72%. |
TLDR
- Black Swan deals damage by applying Sacraments to her enemies
- Her Skill, Talent, and Technique applies Sacrament
- Her Ultimate converts every Sacrament stack into AoE DoT for two turns

Black Swan Eidolons
Below is a complete list of Black Swan’s Eidolons. Her E0 is already powerful as it is, but if fans are willing to spend for her, then a good stopping point would be E1 or E2.
Eidolon | Effect |
Seven Pillars of Wisdom | While Black Swan is active in battle, enemies in the Wind Shear, Bleeding, Burning, and Shocked states respectively have their Wind, Physical, Fire, and Lightning RES reduced by 25%. |
Weep Not for Me, My Lamb | When an enemy under the Sacrament effect is downed, there is a 100% base chance of inflicting 5 stack(s) of Sacrament on adjacent targets. |
As Above, So Below | Skill Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Talent Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. |
In Tears We Gift | While in the Epiphany state, enemy targets’ Effect RES reduces by 10%, and Black Swan regenerates 8 Energy at the start of the target’s turn or when the afflicted enemy is defeated. The Energy Regeneration effect can only trigger up to 1 time while Epiphany lasts. The trigger count will refresh after the enemy is inflicted with Epiphany again. |
Linnutee Flyway | Ultimate Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Basic ATK Lv. +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10. |
Pantheon Merciful, Masses Pitiful | When Black Swan’s teammates attack enemy targets, Black Swan has a 65% base chance of inflicting Sacrament on every enemy target hit. Each time Black Swan inflicts Sacrament on an enemy target, there is a 50% fixed chance to additionally increase the Sacrament stack afflicted this time by 1. |
And that is everything we know so far about Black Swan. Stay tuned for updates about her kit.
