When Ivana Trump made a cameo appearance in the hit 1996 movie The First Wives Club she reached legendary status, not that she had shied away from publicity prior to her appearance.
As the famous first wife of former US President Donald Trump, Ivana walked away from their marriage with $US25 million ($36.7 million) as per their prenuptial agreement.
One of the conditions of the agreement was that she wouldn’t speak publicly about Trump or their marriage, however it was here that Ivana showed the rebelliousness that got her into hot water from time to time, but not so much with her ex-husband who chose to take it on the chin.
Even when she uttered that iconic line in the movie: “Don’t get mad, get everything!”

The movie stars Goldie Hawn, Diane Keaton and Bette Midler as scorned first wives who decide to exact revenge on their estranged husbands before deciding to refocus their efforts on offering support to other first wives by establishing a charitable organisation, funded by their wealthy exes.
Ivana’s cameo takes place towards the end of the movie at the launch party for the organisation. As she is leaving, Ivana turns to the women and says: “Ladies, you have to be strong and independent. And remember – don’t get mad, get everything!”
And with those words, Ivana reached icon status among women around the world.

Ivana died this morning at the age of 73. Donald Trump paid tribute to his ex-wife and the mother of three of his children, Donald Jr, 45, Ivana, 40, and Eric, 38.
“I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City,” he wrote in a post on his Truth Social platform. “She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life.”
“Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric,” he continued. “She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana!”
While the pair publicly remained cordial with each other, Trump did lament Ivana’s desire for publicity and spending during a 1997 interview with American radio host Howard Stern.
Not only did Ivana appear in the movie The First Wives Club, she wrote four books and spent much of the settlement money, with her ex-husband claiming she often asked for more including $US6 million ($8.8 million) for a yacht.
