The Utah Jazz are reportedly trading Patrick Beverley to the Los Angeles Lakers in return for Talen Horton-Tucker and Stanley Johnson, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Beverley, a 34-year-old point guard, did not play a single game with the Utah Jazz. The team acquired him just last month through the blockbuster trade that sent Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
In his one season spent with the Timberwolves, Beverley had an average of 4.1 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 9.2 points in 58 games played. Prior to his time in Minnesota, the 42nd overall pick in 2009 spent time with the Houston Rockets and LA Clippers.
Horton-Tucker spent three seasons within the Lakers franchise. After getting drafted by the Orlando Magic at the 2019 NBA Draft, the team dealt him to Los Angeles the very next day.
During the 2021-2022 campaign, the 21-year-old shooting guard averaged 3.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 10.0 points in 60 games.
Johnson had his first season with Los Angeles in 2021-2022, averaging 6.7 points in 48 games. The 26-year-old power forward was drafted by the Detroit Pistons eighth overall in 2015.
Besides the Pistons and Lakers, Johnson has also spent time with the New Orleans Pelicans and Toronto Raptors. A move to the Jazz would mark his fifth team in nine seasons.
