Former Liberal candidate Katherine Deves will nominate for the party’s New South Wales Senate vacancy – previously held by the late Jim Molan.
Ms Deves ran for the seat of Warringah in the 2022 federal election but lost to the incumbent Independent MP Zali Steggall.
If successful she says she will oppose the campaign for a Voice to Parliament in her role.
However, Ms Deves has promised to stand aside if Warren Mundine nominates for the position in order to avoid splitting the conservative vote at preselection.
