At some point, even the best of the best have got to pass the torch. This has happened many times in NBA history and will only continue.
You may be at the top of your field. You’ll still have to retire eventually. When you do, you may feel better if you’ve got a talented protege to inherit your business.
Sometimes, NBA teams need to do the same. A team could spend a decade at the top of the league.
In time, they’ll have to pass the torch to an up-and-coming club. We’re not saying the Golden State Warriors are done contending.
We’re not necessarily saying the Sacramento Kings are up next, either. There are measures they could take to get closer to that status, though.
If they are, could they acquire Andrew Wiggins from the Warriors this summer?
