anchester City are monitoring a set of injury issues as the fixtures pile up for the run-in.
Sunday’s win over Fulham came after a late setback in the form of Kevin De Bruyne not being named in the matchday squad.
Pep Guardiola has provided an update on the Belgian’s fitness issue after Julian Alvarez came into the team to score the winner at Craven Cottage.
City have also been dealing without Nathan Ake in recent weeks but the defender is aiming to be back for upcoming clashes against the likes of Real Madrid.
Here is your latest update of Man City injuries and return dates…
Kevin De Bruyne
Having not travelled to Fulham on the weekend, De Bruyne’s issue has been described in relatively minor terms.
Speaking after naming his line-up, Guardiola stated on Sky Sports: “He doesn’t feel good. He has some injury and could not travel.”
Standard Sport understands he suffered the blow towards the end of the win over Arsenal, with it more of a precaution to leave him out.
As a result, it is likely that De Bruyne will at least be back in the squad to face West Ham on Wednesday.
Nathan Ake
A hamstring injury suffered in the Champions League trip to Bayern Munich has kept Ake on the sidelines since April 19.
Guardiola has since spoken positively about the Dutch defender, while playing Manuel Akanji as a makeshift left-back.
“He’s much better,” the City boss said last week. “His symptomology is good, the player knows his body and his reaction, but still he’s not training with the team.”
That factor of Ake not yet training means he will still be at least a week away from a return, making the first leg against Madrid on May 9 perhaps his target.
