The qualifying tournament (north zone) of the African Under-16 Football School Championship is being held from October 6 to 12 in Cairo (Egypt), with the participation of two Moroccan teams.
A press release from the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports indicates that this African sports competition, organized by FIFA in collaboration with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), will experience the participation of several football teams from schools on the continent, while school sport is an essential lever for the development of football.
The two Moroccan teams participating in this tournament had won the school championship organized in Kenitra between 14 and 17 April. These are the Omar Ibn El Khattab high school team under the Rabat regional office for girls, and the Sidi Mohamed El Maghraoui high school team (Taounate regional office) for boys.
During this trip, each team will be accompanied by its teacher, the director of the educational establishment and a supervisor for the girls, notes the press release, relayed by the MAP agency.
