On Wednesday Deno Arthur Vegan Stock shared photos and videos on Facebook of him spilling milk at various supermarkets with the caption: “Support the splash – day one.
The DAIRY industry steals the mother cow’s babies from them, then takes her milk for us humans to put in our coffee. Now it’s laying on the floor of the supermarkets.”
Many people had mixed feelings about whether or not the animal rights activist had done the right thing.
One person commented: “I don’t know about this one Big D! I’m all about what you do but this is creating a clean-up mess for the poor lackeys at the supermarket. The person who cleans this up has nothing to do with choosing what the store has in stock.”
Another agreed: “That creates a health and safety issue for people. People like me with a disability. Or the elderly. Who may slip and hurt themselves seriously. This isn’t good.”
A third thought what the activist did was brilliant.
“Deno, you’re relentless and as usual love your work,” they commented.
Stock told Newshub he went to four supermarkets in West Auckland and opened the milk bottle lids to let the milk spill out.
“I did that on my own for an experiment to get feedback,” Stock said.
He added: “I did to expose the dairy industry.”
