The New South Wales government has intervened after flood-affected residents in the state’s Central West were billed for helicopter rescues.
According to the NSW Ambulance website, flood victims would have been charged up to $6,668 per rescue.
NSW Deputy Premier Paul Toole has intervened on the matter, who says changes will be made to the billing system to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
Mr Toole has confirmed that all invoices will be waved with NSW Ambulance since apologising.
