Israeli emergency services have reported the discovery of 260 bodies at the site of a music festival near the border with Gaza which was attacked by armed Hamas terrorists.
The Supernova Sukkot Festival near Kibbutz Re’im had been hosting a rave and was packed with young partying Israelis when Hamas fighters struck without warning.
Having broken through the Gaza border defences, the Palestinian militants managed to overrun military bases and checkpoints killing or capturing the soldiers inside before moving on into surrounding settlements.
Arriving at the festival the gunmen open fire from the back of pickup trucks on the helpless festivalgoers.
Emergency workers working to count the dead have reported removing at least 260 bodies from the scene of the massacre.
The attackers cut electricity to the festival plunging the site into darkness before waiting in ambush for people at the emergency exits, according to an emergency worker.
Yaniv told Israeli broadcaster Kan News: “There are at least 200 bodies of Israelis in the area I was in. It was a massacre.
“I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. It was a planned ambush.
“As people came out of the emergency exits, squads of terrorists were waiting for them there and just started picking them off.”
