The head office of African Global Operations (AGO), formerly Bosasa, has been sold – again.
The Krugersdorp office park and training centre (known as the Smart Global Campus) fetched R29.5 million on auction on Friday, according to Park Village Auctions and Bidders Choice.
The property includes a warehouse, storerooms, a command control room, a recreation building with a large timber deck, a restaurant, a lapa and sleeping quarters. It spans more than eight hectares of land.
Bosasa was put into liquidation in 2019 after receiving billions in government contracts and paying hundreds of millions in bribes. The Zondo Commission into State Capture labelled the affairs of Bosasa as “corruption on an industrial scale”.
The property was initially auctioned off in December 2019, with Fidelity Security Group putting in a successful R14 million bid for the head office.
But due to delays related to litigation, the company gave up on the transaction. Successive court applications challenged the appointment of the Bosasa liquidators, from the High Court benches of Pretoria and Johannesburg to the Supreme Court of Appeal and finally, the Constitutional Court. This delayed the company’s liquidation.

The property was auctioned off along with furniture (R410 000) and a 2012 Toyota Hilux (R70 000). Ten bidders took part in the auction.
The liquidators will use the money to help settle the company’s debts.
