Emergency services have been called to a Southern Rail train between East Croydon and Selhurst just after 6am today (11 September) due to an incident on the train.
Trains on the route may be cancelled or delayed by 15 minutes as two of four lines were forced to close, tickets are being accepted without extra cost on London underground, buses, and Tramlink instead.
It is not yet clear what has occurred.
Southern Rail said: “We have received an emergency call from one of our drivers, and we are currently investigating the issue.
“Our Network Rail colleagues are on site now, and we should be able to update you soon.
“In the mean time, we are unable to run trains on two of the four available lines.”
Southern Rail are encouraging users to plan 30 minutes ahead because of the disruption using their Metro Route map.
They added: “If you are travelling into London, you may need to use an alternative route and then connect for London Underground services to reach your destination.”
