Silver Fern Kayla Johnson and her Warriors playing husband Shaun, have announced they are expecting their second child.
With a baby girl due in July, Johnson will not be available for Dame Noeline Taurua’s squad to contest this year’s Netball World Cup in South Africa.
One of New Zealand’s most recognisable sporting couples, the pair have been reunited back in Auckland since late last year after Shaun Johnson was separated from his young family, when the Warriors were based in Australia due to Covid-19.
Johnson was recalled to the Silver Ferns a year ago after being out of the black dress for almost four years due to the birth of their first child and moving to Australia when Shaun Johnson linked with NRL team the Sharks.

Their second child will be a baby sister for young daughter Millah who is two.
The couple made the announcement via social media on Tuesday evening.
With the Netball World Cup being in August and Johnson turning 31 in February, her time in the Silver Ferns dress may well be over after a stellar career that has seen her represent New Zealand 61 times.
Johnson (nee Cullen) made her Silver Ferns debut in 2011 against England.
