It’s one thing to want something. Being willing and able to pay the cost to get it is a whole different thing. NBA teams usually do, too.
In all likelihood, you’ve got a breaking point. If you’re a billionaire, congratulations. Otherwise, you probably have a price point that you’d deem too expensive.
They may be looking to upgrade their roster, but some players will command so much in a trade that they feel they can’t afford it.
Just look at the Los Angeles Lakers. This team is having an underwhelming season, and they could use upgrades. At the same time, they’re already light on future assets.
While it may not be the first time that comes to mind as having a possible trade target, the Dallas Mavericks could present some options for the Lakers to pursue.
