The Toronto Raptors entered the offseason with a few needs after a surprisingly successful 2021-22 NBA campaign. Many people thought the Raptors would be entering a rebuild after going 27-45 in 2020-21 and landing the fourth overall pick.
They quickly turned things around, going 48-34 last season and earning the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference. They were knocked out in the first round of the playoffs by the Philadelphia 76ers, but they are a team once again on the rise.
If they can address their need for frontcourt help, they would be in business. Nick Nurse did a wonderful job scheming up a game plan to fit the roster that he was given, playing a switch-heavy, chaotic defense that sped up their opponents. However, they were undersized, which led to their demise in the postseason.
The 76ers dominated the Raptors on the interior led by Joel Embiid. They controlled the paint on both ends of the court, making things difficult for Toronto when it came to scoring on the interior or rebounding.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Myles Turner, Indiana Pacers & Toronto Raptors Updates
Adding some size would go a long way, as the Raptors could use a center to insert into their lineup. One player that they should have their eyes set on is Myles Turner of the Indiana Pacers.
Turner has been on the trade block for a long time and while he may remain on the Pacers’ roster heading into the season, he remains a prime trade candidate.
What could it take for the Raptors to land him? Let’s take a look at this hypothetical trade that sends Turner north of the border.
