The Standard-bearer of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), President George M. Weah has called on members of the National Patriotic Party (NPP) to set aside their differences and unite around the strategic collective goals of the coalition.
The NPP is a constituent party of the ruling CDC which include the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) of President George M. Weah and Liberia People Democratic Party (LPDP) of former House Speaker, Alex J. Tyler.
This latest move by the Liberian leader comes admits serious power struggle within the NPP between its stander bearer, Jewel Howard-Taylor and Chairman James Biney in recent.
The CDC Standard-bearer, who is also Chairman of the Governing Council of the CDC, made the assertion Friday, December 30, 2022 during a meeting with members and officials of the NPP in Thinkers Village.
According to a release, the meeting, which was also attended by the Vice Standard-bearer, Jewel Howard-Taylor and the Chairman of the NPP, Sen. James P. Biney, was called and chaired by President George Weah.
“Amid the frank and constructive exchanges, the meeting was very ‘Fruitful and rewarding’, creating the means through which the three political parties in the Coalition, in the coming days, will meet to officially sign the CDC FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT that brought into existence the Coalition for Democratic Change in 2016,” the release said.
Meanwhile, the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the CDC applauds President George Weah’s prompt and early intervention, whilst hailing officials of the NPP for embracing the President’s exemplary peace plan for a stable, united and stronger NPP.
