An impressive defensive display has underpinned the Wallaroos’ 22-5 victory over Fijiana in their Test at Sydney Football Stadium.
The Wallaroos only conceded one try, while scoring four of their own in the final Test appearance of captain Shannon Parry.
The hosts led 10-0 at half-time, courtesy of tries to inside centre Cecilia Smith and winger Maya Stewart.
Early in the second half, Stewart added another try, which was converted by fly half Carys Dallinger, before replacement Bitila Tawake scored in the 60th minute to get Fijiana on the board.
Fijiana was still in the hunt at this stage of the match, but a 70th-minute converted try out wide to winger Ivania Wong iced the win for the Wallaroos.
More to come.
