President William Ruto will today, Sunday, September 18, fly out of the country in his maiden foreign trip since his inauguration as Kenya’s fifth head of state.
In the three-day trip, Ruto will visit the United Kingdom and later the United States where he is scheduled to hold a series of meetings with world leaders.
On Monday, September 19, the president, alongside other world leaders, will attend the interment of Queen Elizabeth II in London, United Kingdom (UK).
William Ruto to Be Hosted for Dinner by King Charles III Upon Arrival in Britain
While in the UK, the Kenya Kwanza leader will be hosted for dinner by King Charles III where they are expected to discuss ways of improving bilateral relations between the two countries.

On Tuesday, September 20, Ruto will fly to the United States where he is expected to address the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
After the address, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) leader will meet captains of the American chamber of commerce.
Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral
It will be a day of emotion, pomp and ceremony with a service at Westminster Abbey, cortege and military procession across London before a final family ceremony at a chapel in Windsor Castle.
The Queen made personal additions to the plans, Buckingham Palace has said.

BBC reported that the abbey, hosting the funeral service, is the historic church where Britain’s kings and queens are crowned, including the Queen’s coronation in 1953.
Not far from where the Queen’s coffin is now resting, the abbey is also the place where she married Prince Philip in 1947.
The Queen lies in state
There hasn’t been a monarch’s funeral service in the abbey since the 18th Century, although the funeral of the Queen Mother was held there in 2002.
TUKO.co.ke earlier reported that a Royal guard fainted and fell off the podium where he was protecting Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin.
According to Mirror, police officers rushed to help him after he dropped to the ground.
Massive queues of mourners have been winding through the streets of London to see the Queen lying in state at Westminster Hall ahead of the funeral.
