The problem of Anemia affects women more than men. Due to which reasons such as lack of proper diet for women, excessive bleeding during periods, and high iron demand of the growing fetus during pregnancy, breastfeeding can be responsible.
Anemia is a condition in which your body does not have enough red blood cells. Due to the lack of red blood cells, there is also a lack of oxygen in the body, due to which new blood is not able to form properly in the body.
This means Anemia is caused by a decrease in the level of haemoglobin in red blood cells. According to the report of Global Nutrition, 51 per cent of women of all ages in India suffer from anaemia during pregnancy.
How much amount of haemoglobin is required?
The amount of haemoglobin in men has been fixed at least 15 grams and in women at 13.6 grams per 100 grams ml.
The biggest reason for anaemia in women is menstruation and pregnancy. Apart from this, iron deficiency, genetic factors, menopause and hormonal changes are also the reasons responsible for this.
