Tottenham Hotspur welcome Manchester City to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a blockbuster Premier League clash.
Victory would see Spurs stay fifth but move to within one point of the top-four, whilst Man City can move two points behind league leaders, Arsenal with a win.
Team News
Pape Sarr is a doubt for Tottenham after suffering a hip injury which sidelined him in recent weeks.
Richarlison (adductor) is a slight doubt but Lucas Moura (tendon) remains absent.
Man City will be without John Stones after the defender suffered a hamstring injury during their FA Cup win over Arsenal.
Phil Foden is in contention to return from a foot injury.
When is Kick-Off?
Tottenham host Man City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 5 February at 4:30pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in UK.
Stat Attack
- Tottenham have lost just two of their last seven league matches against Man City (W4, D1, L2).
- Man City have won just two of their last seven league meetings away at Tottenham (W2, L5).
- Spurs have scored seven goals in their last three home matches against City without conceding (W3).
- Only one of Harry Kane’s 16 league goals for Spurs this season has been scored on his left foot.
- Rodri has had more touches than any other Premier League player this season, having produced 1,977 touches in 19 appearances.
Prediction
Having produced a dominant FA Cup display at Preston last weekend to keep a second straight clean sheet, all eyes will now be on Tottenham to see if they’ve turned a corner although I would like to see them show better end product across 90 minutes because their first-half was poor.
Man City meanwhile were lucky to scrape past Arsenal in their FA Cup clash because despite an excellent defence, they didn’t exactly impress in their end product except for one clinical winner so there is still work to do given their recent league struggles against fellow top teams.
Both teams though met at the Etihad Stadium just a few weeks ago where City came from 2-0 down to win 4-2, so I do expect Spurs and City to really go for it here and defending will be key but Antonio Conte’s absence in the Spurs dugout could also play a part psychologically.
Prediction: Tottenham 1-2 Manchester City
